HPSIDC full form is Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation. It is a Nodal agency of the Himachal Pradesh govt. to enhance and develop industrial infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. It is a major agency in the State to promote the setting up of small, medium, and large-scale industrial units. The Corporation also acts as a State-level financial institution. It’s headquartered in Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, with several production units located in Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh, India. HPSIDC was established in 1966 as an Industrial Development Corporation by the Government of Himachal Pradesh under the Himachal Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Act to spearhead industrial development in the state.

Some of the major projects undertaken by HPSIDC include a glass manufacturing plant at Kullu; hotel development at Dharamsala; a textile park at Mandi; a dairy farm at Kinnaur; power generation project at Solan; mineral exploration projects including a coal mine venture near Rupar and iron ore mine project near Hamirpur.
HPSIDC is established with the mandate of spearheading industrial development in Himachal Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh Government has developed 41 industrial areas and 15 industrial estates so far in Himachal Pradesh and planning to develop new industrial areas in Himachal.

As the dust free climate of Himachal is extremely suitable for the setting up of electronic industries, many electronic complexes have been established at Solan, Mandi, Hamirpur, Shogi, Raga-Ka-Bagh, Chamba, Ambi, Taliwala and Keylong. New industrial areas are: Pandoh in Mandi Sadar, Kandrori in Indora in Kangra district, Jeetpur Bheri in Gharari in Una district.
